Public comment is called on forthcoming SA NQF recognition of engineers, health, HR, financial risk managers, and some professional bodies, by 20 February 2012.

Professionals, employers, clients and the public may comment on designations, including some relevant to occupational health, safety and environment, like Registered Lift Inspector, Registered Lifting Machinery Inspector, Medical Equipment Maintainer, and some membership designations, like financial Risk Management Practitioner, as listed below.

Changes to the NQF allow registration of professional designations on the framework. 1. THE ENGINEERING COUNCIL HAVE LEFT OUT TWO CATEGORIES THAT STILL EXIST, AFTER THE DOOR WAS CLOSED ON FURTHER REGISTRANTS.
    THIS IS NOT THE FIRST TIME THAT ECSA HAS FAILED TO MENTION THESE CLOSE TO 1OOO PERSONS. SHOULD THESE CLASSES OF REGISTRANTS STOP PAYING ECSA, WHO SEEMS TO HAVE FORGOTTEN THEM. I REFER TO;
    * REGISTERED ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
    * REGISTERED ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN (MASTER)
    I HAVE BEEN REGISTERED AS THE LATTER FOR 26 YEARS.
